Family Meal Plan - Week 5

Hello and welcome back to my family meal plan – week 5. I can’t believe we’re on week 5 already and Christmas is almost here. We’ve finally got a slow-cooker! So I’m really happy to be including some slow cooker meals in my meal plans from now on. There are so many good ones online and I’ve got a few of my own slow cooker recipes as well. I will be adding some over the next few months.

Monday – Swedish Meatballs & Mash

We love the Ikea meatballs and gravy, but you know what tastes even better? A homemade version of it, this is the best and easiest Swedish meatball recipe that I’ve found.

Tuesday – Southwestern Cream Cheese Chicken Wraps

These are so good and easy to make. I love all the extra cheese that goes in this wrap, mixed with veggies. Now if you’re from the UK/Germany and wondering what the heck is Cilantro, I’m here to help. It’s what Americans call coriander. One of the many things they have different names for. Instead of black beans, I’ll intend on using mixed taco beans and a separate batch without beans for my fussy husband.

Wednesday – Slowcooker Beef Stroganoff

A nice and warming slowcooker meal and the whole house smell amazing when you walk through the door. It just needs a few ingredients and most are household staples anyway. We tend to cook it with fusilli or elbow pasta, but you can use any.

Thursday – Garlic Butter Steak & Potatoes

This looks so delicious and you can easily use cheaper cuts of beef steaks for this meal. You can precook the potatoes to cut the cooking time in the skillet down.

Friday Baked Cod with Roasted Red Pepper

Am I predictable with choosing yet another fish meal for Friday? Maybe, but there are just so many good ones to choose from and try it. I can’t wait to make to this one, there is a layer of rep pepper paste underneath the breadcrumbs. And it’s all homemade, the kids will love making the breadcrumbs. But if you feel like skipping a step or two you could buy readymade red pepper paste and breadcrumbs.

Saturday – Slowcooker Chicken Teriyaki

I’ve been trying to find a recipe an easy recipe for this, for a while now. I was glad to finally come along a slow cooker version of this, always a favourite in our busy house. The best thing is you don’t need to a buy a ready-made teriyaki sauce.

Sunday – One Pan Honey Mustard Chicken

As you know, I’m a big fan of any meals that I just need one pan for. And this one is just like it. Potatoes and green beans topped with chicken that’s smothered in a honey and mustard sauce. That’s always a winner in our house.

That’s it for the family meal plan – week 5. And hopefully, you will enjoy all of the recipes. And remember that you can swap out vegetables to alter the meals to your needs and liking.
